The Optos allows optometrists to screen the back of the eye without using dilating drops, making this procedure much more comfortable than traditional methods. If your doctor sees something that needs further investigation, dilation drops will then be used. This image also gives a snapshot in time allowing Optometrists to compare the previous pathology they may have noted in past visits. This is recommended for all patients, including kids, to ensure a detailed eye exam. With this image, we are able to diagnose eye diseases earlier and prevent vision loss.
